POLITICS ON FILM Announces First Annual Best Political Film of the Year Survey
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Film fans can weigh in on 2009’s Best Political Film as Politics on Film today launches an annual online survey to gauge audience views of political issues and their portrayal onscreen.
The survey is open to voters from now through February 1.

REMINDER: Early Submission Deadline December 15
WASHINGTON— Filmmakers wishing to take advantage of the discounted entry rate for early submissions must send their entry postmarked December 15, 2009, Politics on Film organizers reminded filmmakers today.
The second annual film festival is scheduled to take place May 4-9, 2010 in Washington, DC. The final deadline is February 15, 2010 (postmarked).

POLITICS ON FILM Announces 2nd Annual Festival Dates
WASHINGTON— The second annual Politics on Film festival will be held May 4-9, 2010 in Washington, DC, event organizers announced today. The inaugural success of Politics on Film has led event organizers to extend the festival to one full week of activities..
“We were thrilled with the success of the inaugural festival this past May. The quality of the films, the participation of filmmakers from around the world and attendance by thousands of Washingtonians really established a great foundation for an event we hope will grow in the coming years,” said Gayle Osterberg, Chief Operating Officer.

"There are a huge number of film festivals in D.C. and a lot of them have political overtones, but they are segmented," says Lee Johnson, co-founder of the festival and CEO of the Congressional Media Group. "There was nothing that had this overarching theme of politics that encapsulated the whole gamut."
